Most people think this is a scam of some type because they believe they know where they would have lost
any money, but think of this- have you moved? Did someone record your address incorrectly? Did a relative leave some money
for you in a will? Well, most of the time this is the reason your property was lost. Sometimes it is a refund
from a utilities company- like you see in the Anchorage Daily News every year, by law they have to list any unlclaimed monies.
But once they try this for 3 years they do not have to report it anymore and it just sits there. Fee finders locate
these items, and then search for the owner.
I personally like for the owner to claim their property, then when they get their money or check, I cash
a check for my legally allowed amount that is collected upon our meeting. This gives the owner the ability to void or
hold the check until they have actually received their money and are certain that this was not a hoax. Below I
will post letters from clients that I have helped, most in the professional field here in Anchorage so that contacted clients
can rest assured that this is legal and factual!
